Dear Friend,

On this day more than 3,200 years ago, our prophets teach us, the sun miraculously stood still in the sky over Jericho, delaying nightfall and enabling Joshua and the Jewish people to triumph over their enemies.
 
Twenty-six years ago, on this same Jewish date of the 3rd of Tammuz, millions of people around the world heard about the the passing of the Rebbe.
 
But the sun has not set.
The Rebbe's radiant leadership continues to illuminate the world. As the Zohar teaches, a righteous man no longer bound by physical limitations is more profoundly felt than ever before.
 
The Rebbe is a source of guidance, energy, and vitality for all of us as we do our share in furthering the mission with which he charged us: preparing ourselves and the entire world to welcome Moshiach.

It is most fitting that on a day such as this we recommit to the Torah ideals that the Rebbe emphasized so much:

Seeing the diamond within ourselves and bringing it out, by increasing acts of goodness and kindness; not being satisfied by our past achievements; and becoming more careful with observance of mitzvos. In addition, to see the diamond in others; know that they are children of G-d and therefore should be treated with the love, honor and respect they deserve, and that we serve as an inspiration to them in leading a life committed to G-d and His commandments and bringing about the redemption through Moshiach.
